DHA Hazardous Waste Drop-off

Last July we completed a neighborhood clean-up operation wherein we arranged for the El Paso County Environmental Division to provide a convenient Hazardous Household Waste collection site on Wintery Loop. Over 70 Discovery residents used this opportunity to dispose of hazardous waste, including paint (both latex and oil-based), prescription medicines (please remove the labels with identifying information), pesticides, fertilizer products, hobby chemicals, propane tanks, the used peanut oil from the Thanksgiving turkey you fried 3 years ago, small electronics, and various and sundry other items that don't belong in our landfills. You can check out what materials the El Paso County Environmental Division will accept (or not) here.

Based on the high level of participation and the encouraging comments we received during that effort, we have scheduled another Hazardous Household Waste collection effort this year. You will be able to drop off your hazardous household waste at:

7147 Wintery Loop, ONLY from 7:00 - 11:00 AM on September 16th

This is the window that the El Paso County Environmental Division gave us.  Please note that you will not be able to drop off waste before the morning of the 16th!  If you will not be able to drop yours off that morning, perhaps you could arrange for a neighbor to include your items with theirs.

NOTE: THIS SERVICE IS PROVIDED FOR OUR DISCOVERY HOA RESIDENTS ONLY! PLEASE DON'T INVITE YOUR FRIENDS AND RELATIVES TO ABUSE THIS OPPORTUNITY.

Please mark your calendars to take advantage of this great cleanup opportunity!
